More about myself…
Aloha to all, my name is Riley Makena Rudd. I was born and raised on the island of Maui, Hawaii. I’m from a little country town nested on the side of Haleakala volcano named Kula. I’m a person who’s core is inspired by an abundance of art and anything that beats with the heart of creativity.
I am an award winning martial arts teacher that specializes in Yee Chuan Tao, Tai Chi Chaun, and some Shaolin. I am a self taught musician who has a deep love for Blues, Soul, R&B music and consider it a unique part of my history. I primarily play electric guitar but play other instruments as well. These two talents have carried me all across America and to places abroad and has really taught me lessons that are unrivaled. I’m one who truly learned the value of being dedicated to one’s passion and sticking to a commitment until the very end, knowing the payoff is always better I say.
I have always been into technology, web design, video games etc. I started creating websites at the age of 11. I thought I’d make a hit RPG and get my whole school to sign up. To be truthful it only reached about 40 people. With that said, over the years I’ve continued to add to my repertoire. I am well versed in HTML, CSS, Javascript and have dabbled in several different other programming languages. I’ve recently been an intern at GameDev HQ and have started my journey developing Video Games on a professional level. Something I’ve only dreamed about! It was just the thing I needed to push me through the pandemic we all went through this last year. Funding unfortunately was cut but, the journey never ended. I am always learning and pushing myself outside my comfort zone. I’m focused to stay in touch with the enormity and fast growing pace of the industry.
All my hard work is paying off. I spent the last year working for Xerox teaching myself the workings of modern-day copiers and printers. The pay was awful but the knowledge that came with it is priceless. I soaked up all that I could from the senior techs and it was well worth the pay cut. I live in Hawaii though and need to look after my ohana.
I am going into business for myself and feel like I’m more than ready. I already have a name in mind and am going to get a business license to start off the new year. So excited for what the future holds for me and my ohana!
It’s only the beginning! Thanks for taking a look at my site, hit me up if you need help with anything on the tech side and I would love to help! If you just want to talk story thats cool too! I’m here to learn just as much as I’m here to teach! Much love and mahalo
